In a pageant, evaluating a girl based on the beauty of her curves, skin and overall bearing is probably one of the most difficult task a judge has to go through.  But, with merely a few seconds to base such assessment, it is no surprise why some of those who look incredibly hot in their swimsuit portfolio still fail to get the nod of the judges.

So, what does it take to be a part of the Missosology's Swimsuit Hot Pick?  First of all, it's the variation!  Every woman from different corners of the world has a unique physique, as evidenced by geographic, topographic and economic differences.  From the long-legged glamazons of Latin America, the ebony beauties of Africa, to the soft and gentle looks of Europe, Asia and the Pacific Islanders, the 2012 edition of Miss International has attracted numerous reasons to celebrate the beauty of a woman's body.

Okinawa, where the Miss International 2012 is currently being held, has a sub-tropical climate and they definitely do not represent the average Japanese taste of beauty.  Many Okinawans are dark-skinned, and they love the sun just like most tropical islanders are.  They are fun-loving, relaxed and easy to get along with.   The venue of this year's pageant has somehow affected our choices as well.

So, here are the Top 5 girls who caught our attention:

 

01GUAM - Chanel Cruz-Jarrett (172 cm, 18)

Speaking of the one with the freshest look, and armed with the right curves... that's definitely Chanel!  There is no doubt that she tops this category.  She is the epitome of a young, vibrant and sexy woman of the 21st century.  An ideal "Miss" if you ask us.

COLOMBIA - Melissa Varon (179 cm, 24)02

Her tanned skin, toned body and "endless" legs are her best assets!  She will definitely be one of those who can set the bar too high for the girls who follow after her. 

03INDIA - Rochelle Maria Rao (170 cm, 23)

Rochelle is "blessed".  And you know what we mean by that.  She is aware of her best "asset" and knows how to flaunt them.   She is arguably the best Indian delegate in bikini that we have seen in recent years.

 TAHITI - Ariirau Sandras (174 cm, 22)  04

The Pacific Island of Tahiti, also known as the French Polynesia, is home of beautiful exotic women, with great skin tone and healthy bodies.  Ariirau best represents that!

 05DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - Melody Mir (181 cm, 22)

Being one of the tallest candidates has indeed made her a major standout, and Melody knows how to capitalize on that!  Another tanned beauty, who is usually mistaken for Miss Colombia, she is another glamazon to watch out for!

06NAMIBIA - Paulina Malulu (185 cm, 19)
Look at those legs!!!   This African beauty is definitely one of the hottest delegates in Okinawa!   I love her attitude, and her bubbly personality seems to reflect from inside out.

07VENEZUELA - Blanca Aljibes (179 cm, 24)
Ever since her stint at Miss Venezuela Pageant, Blanca has always been oozing with sex appeal.  We are glad to see that she has softened her look a little bit in order to suit the MI mold.  She is definitely ready for this round!

08BOLIVIA - Stephanie Nunez (174 cm, 22)
Poise, curve, tanned skin... What else can we ask for?   Stephanie definitely worked hard to achieve that body, but for MI, we believe that it's a little bit overdone.  But, we cannot ignore her at all!  She can definitely pull a surprise.

09PHILIPPINES - Nicole Schmitz (175 cm, 24)
This half-Australian, half-Filipino beauty had actually won her local pageant's Best in Swimsuit award.  So, it is no surprise that she is in this list.

10PARAGUAY - Nicole Huber (174 cm, 21)
She is fine, and her well-toned body may do well at Miss Universe, but we doubt that it will be a shoo-in for Miss International.  But, if she softens her look and make a demure catwalk, she might score higher in this category.

11MALAYSIA - Mei Xian Teng (180 cm, 22)
This towering beauty from Perak is a rare find.  She is a Chinese-Malaysian with endless legs.  And just like Miss India, she's got a major asset to boot!

12HAITI - Anedie Azael (177 cm, 22)
She is so full of spunk and such personality makes her look even more vibrant and lively in her swimsuit.  Her skin tone is also one of the best, so, we should watch out for her!

13UNITED KINGDOM - Alize Lily Mounter (179 cm, 22)
Miss World 2011's Beach Beauty winner is no stranger to bikinis!  She knows how to work it and she is working it well.  Interestingly, she is the only European in our list.

14JAPAN - Ikumi Yoshimatsu (170 cm, 24)
When Ikumi competed at her local pageant, she wore a very revealing swimsuit that made her an instant hit among the judges.  If she could pull that one over, she could pull this one too!

15MYANMAR - Nang Khin Zay Yar (169 cm, 23)
Missosology's sentimental favorite, and one of the most popular girls on our online voting, Nang is showing the rest of the world what Myanmar has to offer.  And yes, she did not disappoint us in her bikini.  Though not your typical "pageant body", she still got the right curves at the right place.
